This is the atoll for the trip where the budget is the resort rather than the flight — honeymoons, anniversaries, the holiday that is meant to be the holiday. What the money buys, beyond the villa, is space: these are large islands with few rooms on them, which is a different experience from a resort of the same star rating packed onto a small one near Malé. What it does not buy is a shorter transfer or an exemption from daylight — the seaplane is around forty minutes and it does not fly after dark, so an evening arrival into Malé costs a night in the city whatever the room rate is.

Questions about Noonu Atoll

Not really, and we would rather say that than send you a quote you were never going to take. The atoll is five-star throughout. For a similar northern feel at a lower rate, Raa is the atoll to ask about.

The transfer is quoted with the package rather than assumed, because on the northern atolls it is a significant part of the total. Every rate we publish is land-only in the other direction: international flights are always separate.

The flight is around forty to forty-five minutes, but the wait at the seaplane terminal is the part people underestimate — plan on a few hours between landing at Velana and arriving on the island, and book a morning flight so the whole thing fits inside the daylight.
