The same short boat ride as North Malé, across a chain of reefs that dive better. If the trip has diving in it but not a whole week, this is usually the atoll the maths lands on.
The draw is the channels. Water moves between the open ocean and the inner lagoon through gaps in the atoll rim, and the fish stack up where it does — the reason a dive here has more in it than a reef swim on a calmer island further in. It is a smaller set of resorts than North Malé and a slightly narrower price range with it, but the transfer window is the same, so an evening flight into Malé still reaches the island the same night. Several of these islands sell a beach villa and a water villa on the same stay, which is the split most of our Maldives bookings actually take.
