The 3-Night Phuket Cruise from Singapore: The One That Stays Overnight
21 Aug 2026
4 min read

Thailand and back in a long weekend, and the only sailing on the calendar that berths overnight — in at 4pm, away at 2am, which buys you an evening ashore. Which pier you get, why the ship never changes her clocks, and what not to attempt on an afternoon arrival.

There is one sailing on the Singapore calendar that gets you to Thailand and back inside a long weekend, and it does something none of the other itineraries do: it stays the night.

The itinerary, and why the overnight matters

Day 3Phuket (Deep Sea Port)2am (1am)
Day 4Singapore2pm

Read that table again. She arrives in Phuket at 4pm on the Wednesday and does not leave until 2am on the Thursday. Every other port call on this calendar is a daytime call — ashore after breakfast, back aboard before dinner. This one hands you an evening in Thailand.

That is the difference between seeing a beach and having dinner somewhere. Patong after dark, a proper Thai meal ashore, a night market — none of which is available to you on an eleven-hour daytime call.

Sailing on: Tue 25 Aug 2026 · Tue 29 Sep 2026 · Tue 13 Oct 2026 · Tue 27 Oct 2026 · Tue 10 Nov 2026 · Tue 24 Nov 2026 · Tue 1 Dec 2026 · Tue 8 Dec 2026 · Tue 22 Dec 2026 · Tue 12 Jan 2027 · Tue 26 Jan 2027 · Tue 9 Feb 2027, and 4 more dates through to the end of the published calendar.

Which pier, and why it changes

Most dates berth at the Deep Sea Port at Ao Makham, about half an hour from Patong. On a handful of dates the ship is at Patong Bay instead, which is a tender operation — you come ashore by small boat, and you are much closer to the beach and the nightlife.

The calendar marks which dates are which, and we tell you when we quote. It changes the shape of your evening enough to be worth knowing in advance: from the Deep Sea Port you are committing to a taxi in both directions and watching the clock; from Patong Bay you can be ashore in minutes.

The times in brackets

Phuket is an hour behind Singapore, so the operator prints both — "4pm (3pm)" means 4pm ship's time, 3pm local. The ship runs on Singapore time throughout and does not change her clocks. Every all-aboard time is ship's time. This is the single most common way people are late back: they check a local clock in a bar and arrive at the pier an hour after the ship expected them.

What to do with the day and the evening

  • Afternoon. You arrive mid-afternoon, so this is not a full beach day. Old Phuket Town with its Sino-Portuguese shophouses is the better use of a few daylight hours, and it is more interesting than Patong.
  • Evening. Dinner ashore, a night market, or Patong if that is what you came for.
  • What not to attempt. Phi Phi, James Bond Island and the day-long boat trips. They do not fit an afternoon arrival, and being on a boat somewhere in the Andaman Sea when the ship is due to sail is not a risk worth taking.

Thailand entry on a cruise call

You are entering Thailand, and immigration is processed for the ship's passengers at the pier. Requirements depend on your nationality and can change — we confirm what applies to your passport as part of quoting rather than leaving you to work it out at the gangway.

Phuket or Penang?

If you want a second country and a beach, take Phuket — the overnight is genuinely a different experience and the sailing is the same three nights. If you want food, streets and something to look at, take Penang. Phuket is the one people book for the evening ashore; Penang is the one they book for the day.

Booking it through us

The Phuket sailing runs roughly fortnightly and the overnight dates are the ones people ask for. We are a Singapore-based operator (STB licence TA03365N) and we book the Genting Dream alongside the rest of the trip — the cabin, the nights either side of the sailing, the airport and terminal transfers, and the attraction tickets for the days you are ashore. One quotation, one company answering the phone, and the fare quoted for the actual date you want rather than a headline price for a date you cannot take.

Tell us the sailing date and how many of you there are on our plan your trip page and we will come back with the cabin options and a full costing. If you are combining the cruise with a land holiday, start from our Singapore packages from India instead and say "cruise" in the message.

Frequently Asked Questions

Three nights, sailing on Tuesdays and returning to Singapore on the Friday. It is a round trip from Marina Bay Cruise Centre.

Yes. The ship arrives in Phuket at about 4pm and does not depart until around 2am, which is why it is the only sailing on this calendar that gives you an evening ashore in Thailand.

No. The ship stays on Singapore time throughout, and Phuket is an hour behind. All-aboard times are ship's time, which is the most common reason passengers are late back.

It is not advisable. The ship arrives mid-afternoon, and a full-day boat trip cannot be fitted in without risking the sailing time.
