A tried-and-tested 5 days 4 nights Singapore itinerary covering Marina Bay, Sentosa, Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay and the city's best food — with daily budgets, transport tips and a printable day-by-day plan.

Five days is the sweet spot for Singapore. It is long enough to cover every icon — Marina Bay, Sentosa, Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay — without the rushed, checklist feeling of a 3-day dash, and short enough to keep hotel costs sensible. This is the exact day-by-day plan we use when building our 5 days 4 nights Singapore packages for guests from India, refined over hundreds of departures.

Before you start: the 3 decisions that shape your trip

  • Where to stay: base yourself near an MRT station in the city (Bugis, Clarke Quay, Little India or Orchard). One night on Sentosa is a lovely upgrade for families and couples.
  • How to get around: the MRT covers 90% of this itinerary. Buy an EZ-Link card or simply tap a contactless credit card at the gates.
  • What to pre-book: Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay conservatories and Night Safari sell timed tickets — book these before you fly, especially for weekend dates.

Day 1 — Arrival, Merlion Park & Marina Bay by night

Land at Changi, clear immigration (submit your SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival) and drop your bags at the hotel. Keep the first day light:

  • Late afternoon: walk the Marina Bay waterfront — Merlion Park, the Esplanade, and the Helix Bridge make a perfect first loop.
  • Evening: catch Spectra, the free light-and-water show at Marina Bay Sands (usually 8pm and 9pm).
  • Dinner: Lau Pa Sat hawker centre is a 10-minute walk away — satay street opens after 7pm.

Day 2 — Universal Studios Singapore (full day)

Take the MRT to HarbourFront, then the Sentosa Express to Resorts World. Arrive 15 minutes before gates open and head straight to Battlestar Galactica and Transformers before the queues build. Families with young kids should start in the Far Far Away zone instead. Budget a full day — the park comfortably fills 8 hours with shows and rides. Stay on the island for dinner at the RWS Malaysian Food Street.

Day 3 — Sentosa: beaches, cable car & Wings of Time

Return to Sentosa at a slower pace: S.E.A. Aquarium or the new Singapore Oceanarium in the morning, Siloso Beach and the Skyline Luge after lunch, then the cable car ride at golden hour. End with Wings of Time, the beachfront night show (book the 7:40pm slot). Our Sentosa-stay packages put you right on the island for exactly this reason — zero commute on your beach day.

Day 4 — Gardens by the Bay, Chinatown & Clarke Quay

  • Morning: Cloud Forest and Flower Dome before 11am, when the light is best and tour groups haven't arrived.
  • Afternoon: Chinatown — Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Pagoda Street, and a hawker lunch at Maxwell Food Centre (the original Tian Tian chicken rice).
  • Evening: return to Gardens by the Bay for the free Garden Rhapsody Supertree show (7:45pm), then drinks or a river cruise at Clarke Quay.

Day 5 — Little India, Orchard Road & departure

Spend your last morning in Little India (Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, Tekka Centre, Mustafa Centre for last-minute shopping) or on Orchard Road if retail is more your thing. Head to Changi 3 hours before your flight — and leave time for the Jewel waterfall; the Rain Vortex is worth arriving early for.

How much does 5 days in Singapore cost?

As a realistic per-person guide for travellers from India (mid-range, twin sharing): flights ₹18,000–28,000 return, hotel ₹6,000–10,000 per night, attractions ₹12,000–15,000, food and transport ₹1,500–2,500 per day. Most travellers spend ₹75,000–95,000 per person all-in. A well-negotiated package usually beats self-booking once attraction tickets and transfers are included — compare with our Singapore price list and see current package rates here.

Swaps and variations

  • Travelling with kids? Swap Chinatown on Day 4 for the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari.
  • Honeymooners: swap Day 5 shopping for a Marina Bay Sands SkyPark sunset and a Singapore Flyer ride.
  • Repeat visitors: replace Universal Studios with a day trip to Pulau Ubin or the Southern Ridges walk.
